Chef Agus - Head Chef Dapur Usada

Leading the class is Chef I Gusti Nyoman Agus Wiadnyana, Head Chef of Usada Bali and a passionate figure in Balinese culinary culture. Raised in a traditional family in Ubud, Chef Agus inherited his deep understanding of herbs, healing food, and local ingredients from his father, who was known for his traditional remedies.

With decades of experience in the kitchen, he has dedicated himself to exploring the intersection of Balinese wisdom and Ayurvedic nutrition. His cooking philosophy centers on balance, simplicity, and the powerful connection between food and well-being.

Chef Agus now brings this philosophy to life through the Ayurvedic Cooking Experience. With his warm presence, keen intuition, and wealth of knowledge, he creates a learning atmosphere where guests feel both empowered and inspired to cook with intention and heart.

We invite you to experience the warmth of Dapur Usada’s kitchen, where wellness meets flavor. Whether you’re a home cook or a curious traveler, this class offers more than just recipes—it’s a transformative encounter with conscious, joyful nourishment.

What You’ll Experience
  • Introduction to the Usada IndoVedic concept of food as medicine

  • Hands-on instruction from Chef Agus using local herbs and ingredients

  • Practical preparation of a complete 5-course Ayurvedic meal:

    • Moringa Soup or Banana Soup

    • Saté Stick

    • Usada Kitchari

    • Mungbean Thoran

    • ‘Bounty’ Ball Dessert

  • Personal interaction in a small group (2–6 participants)

Included in Your Booking

  • Morning or afternoon welcome tea with a sweet treat (Bounty Ball or Pisang Goreng)

  • Full participation in a hands-on Ayurvedic cooking class

  • All ingredients and use of kitchen equipment

  • 9:30 AM: Cooking session begins

  • 11:30 AM: Shared lunch

Dinner Class (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

  • 3:00 PM: Usada Afternoon Tea & Treat

  • 3:30 PM: Cooking session begins

  • 5:30 PM: Shared dinner
