Blessing Ceremony for Paon Usada and Cucu
Melaspas, Usada and a New Hearth. Today we gathered at a new extension of our Usada hearth in Campuhan. For a Melaspas ceremony to mark the beginning of the next exciting chapter for Usada Bali.
In Bali, a Melaspas ceremony purifies and consecrates a newly completed building before people inhabit or use it. Through offerings, prayer, and holy water, the community cleanses and harmonizes the space. We recognize that a place becomes whole not only through construction, but through its relationship with community, nature, and spirit.
For us, this ceremony marked more than the blessing of a new building. It marked the beginning of a new hearth.

Growing With Community
Dapur Usada has always been more than a kitchen. It brings people together through learning, conversation, and nourishment. The care given to the food we serve and commitment to our community has led us to this wonderful next step. Together with Gusti Dartha and Chef Agus, we feel grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside the community that continues to support and inspire us. Paon Usada and Cucu Usada have emerged from that shared journey.

Fire, Food, and Continuity
Across many cultures, the hearth does more than provide a place to cook. It gathers people, carries stories forward, and strengthens relationships across generations.
In that spirit, Paon and Cucu continue what has always sat at the heart of Usada: the meeting of culture, creativity, hospitality, and food. Here, we use fire not only for cooking, but also to cultivate connection, celebrate cultural continuity, and bring people together around a shared table.
The Melaspas ceremony reminds us that every beginning deserves reflection and gratitude. Before we open the doors and serve the first meals, we take a moment to acknowledge the people, traditions, and circumstances that made this journey possible.

Looking Forward
With the blessing of this new space complete, we look forward to welcoming you to Paon Usada and Cucu Usada in the coming weeks. We look forward to sharing this new kitchen, this new hearth, and the next chapter of the Usada story with you.
